I am very honoured to be involved in the eleventh and final release on the Sonic Cathedral Singles Club! A seasonal collaboration with Mark Peters of the theme to the classic Xmas TV series ‘The Box Of Delights’! Mark Peters recorded a beautiful version of the classic TV theme, and I remixed it for the AA Side. It is released on December 17th! Jingle bells!

The eleventh and final release on the Sonic Cathedral Singles Club is a brand new seasonal recording by @markpetersofficial

It’s a cover of the theme tune to the classic kids’ Christmas TV series ‘The Box Of Delights’ – which was first broadcast 35 years ago today on November 21, 1984.

Part of an incredible soundtrack put together by BBC Radiophonic Workshop don Roger Limb, it is actually ‘The First Noel’ segment of the Carol Symphony by Victor Hely-Hutchinson, but Mark’s version manages to be as sinister as Abner Brown, the show’s antagonist, with a scary Spiritualized-meets-The-Excorcist feel. Over on the AA-side @thisismaps manages to prise open the box and bathes everything in light and magic on his delightful remix.
